Complete and return the application by email, fax, or US Standard Mail.

Once your application has been approved, the coordinator will contact you to complete your individual training.

Foster Training is completed in the format of a home visit, at your home. This allows the coordinator to focus your training on your specific interests, questions and concerns, and to assist you with home preparation for your foster animals. Home training generally takes about 2 hours.

Training is completed with a shelter tour at the time that you pick up your first foster animals.

We recommend that all foster parents attend the Volunteer Orientation to familiarize themselves with Wayside Waifs organization and policies. Wayside also offers additional classes that are recommended but not required. These classes include: Cat I Dog I WAGS Community Series A full list of upcoming classes is available on our Events Calendar.

Kansas residents are required by Kansas State Law to have a Foster License on file. The coordinator will assist you with this process.
