Thank you for visiting the Moody Brother's Strutt page! It's that time of the year again - Strutt With Your Mutt season! Strutt is Wayside Waifs' largest fall fundraiser. We have a goal to raise $185,000 for the homeless pets in our care. Strutt is Sunday, September 15 in Brookside - join our team to participate or donate to help us reach our team goal of $500.
Wayside is celebrating it's 75th anniversary this year - just another reason to celebrate Strutt. Our longevity relies on community support through individual donations, foundation grants and sponsorship; we do not receive any state or federal funding. That's why Strutt With Your Mutt is so important! Strutt is just one of the many revenue streams that contributes to keeping the doors open year after year.
Bear is a Waif alumni, he was just 3 months old when he was surrendered by his first family to Wayside because he was unwanted and abandoned by his owner, left in the care of the owner's sister. The sister then brought Bear to Wayside because she did not want a puppy. Molly took Bear to an event and fell in love with his cute personality and sweet natured temperament. Instead of returning him to the shelter after the event, she brought him home to meet Malakai and Ryne. And the rest is history.
Bear is just one of thousands of dogs that come through Wayside's doors looking for their forever home. Fast forward a year and a half later, Bear warms our hearts everyday with his fluttering eyes, morning cuddles, and playful personality. He loves Malakai and looks up to him. We can't imagine our lives without the guy.
Malakai is not a Waif alumni but we did adopt him from a family living in the mountains of Montana. Mal is a true mountain pup - he loves hiking, swimming and tracking a scent. He's been the rock in our family - a constant stream of affection and the smartest dog either of us have ever had. He's calm and loyal and a great friend to Bear.
Wayside Waifs is Kansas City's largest and most comprehensive no-kill adoption campus. Wayside cares for over 6,200 abandoned, abused and homeless animals every year.
Wayside's mission is preparing pets and people for the bond of their lives. They provide animal adoptions, animal rescues, foster care programs, humane education programs including No More Bullying!, the Bark Park (an off-leash dog park), Whiskers & Wags (an on-site pet retail boutique), pet memorial services, and volunteer opportunities.
With your generous support to Strutt With Your Mutt, you are making a direct impact to the homeless animals at Wayside Waifs, giving them a second chance at finding a fur-ever home! We encourage you to strutt with us on September 15.
Thank you for your support and we hope you can join us this fall at Strutt With Your Mutt!
